How Does Awareness Help?

Most people do not see or recognize the signs of DVA. This awareness gap is one of the key elements which prevent victims from gaining the support they need to start their path to freedom. Our goal is to eradicate the DVA awareness gap so that no one remains under the powerful grasp of DVA and their abuser.

With awareness, we can all recognize the signs and presence of DVA, begin conversations to positively help those in need, and help them realize they have Every Great Reason to move forward, and begin a new Life.

Our efforts – past, present & future – will continue to focus on
creating greater awareness across the nation.

We have told the painful story of Ellen’s tragedy to create greater awareness, reaching those in need AND also their family, friends, neighbors, colleagues and communities. Our clear goal is to establish a better understanding of how omnipresent DVA is in every community. Ultimately, we strive to reach victims, both directly and through those around them, to advance their awareness and accelerate their steps to freedom.
